SHARON PUBLIC LIBRARY
Our mission is to partner with the Sharon Public Library in serving the informational, educational, cultural, and recreational needs of the community through fundraising, programming, advocacy, and volunteerism.
Fund-raising efforts include membership dues, Adopt-a-Book and the Annual Used Book Sale. The Friends also solicit donations from local businesses. At our 2015 Used Book Sale, we raised over $6,000.
Funding Programs and Material
The Sharon Public Library has an operating budget from the town and the state which supports the salaries and daily overhead of running the Library. Programming for adults and children, furniture such as the new tables outside the library, discount museum passes, large-print books, rental books, refreshments at programs...so many of the "extras" which make our Library such a wonderful, rich place come from funds raised by the Friends.
The Friends enrich the life of the town by bringing together neighbors from across Sharon and across age-lines. We support and provide programming that stimulates the minds of our children and adults. Being on the Board, volunteering, attending an event are wonderful ways to meet new friends and get to know the people who share your town and Library. Join us on Facebook!
